Getting A Dog
We can advise you on the characteristics and temperaments of different breed types, where to look and who to buy from, your dog’s initial requirements and all the other things you need to take into consideration.
A handout containing general information about this is available free of charge. If you would like to have a conversation with us about your specific requirements, you can book a time to talk to us on the phone, which costs £20.
1-2-1 Training
We can do a 1-2-1 session with you to help you get off to the best start with your new puppy, or to help you with a particular training issue with your dog.
An hour’s 1-2-1 training session in your own home costs £75, which includes comprehensive individual follow-up notes so that you don’t have to try to remember everything that we say at the time. If you need more than one session, we also offer a package of 3 sessions for £195. We operate free of charge within a 10 mile radius of our location, outside this area we charge an additional 45p per mile.

Training Classes
We run puppy training classes covering all the self-control behaviours that you’ll need, including sit, down, stand, settle, loose lead walking, recall, not jumping up, leave, wait and drop, as well giving you an introduction to clicker training, which is our preferred method of positive reward based training. Our main aim is to get your dog to focus on you rather than anything else in the environment. Puppy classes run in blocks of six weeks on Tuesday evenings in York throughout the year and cost £110 with written follow-up notes.
Agility Sessions
We run agility on Saturday mornings all year round. All sessions are held outdoors so are always ‘weather permitting’. We do agility for fun rather than for competition, and all dogs need to be at least one year old to take part and must have a good level of obedience and be good around other dogs.
We give priority at agility to our previous clients, so if we haven’t worked with your dog before we’ll first need to do an assessment with you so that we can decide whether your dog is suitable, and will fit in. This is simply because the dogs in our two existing groups all get along well with each other, so we need to be careful when considering including a new dog because of the group dynamics. An assessment costs £15, contact us for further details.
Agility sessions are £8 each if you book and pay for four sessions in advance.

Behaviour
We can carry out a complete evaluation of your dog at a behavioural consultation, and provide you with strategies to modify your dog’s unwanted behaviours.
The fee for 1-2-1 behavioural consultation is £200. This includes the initial consultation, a written report and recommendations, and one follow-up visit. Any subsequent visits required are then chargeable at £70 per hour. We operate free of charge within a 10 mile radius of York, outside this area we charge an additional 45p per mile.
